Teirnan, mariner of the heavens

Teirnan, mariner of the heavens
Shining brightly, navigates
The expanse so dark
Among stars so bright
Celestial bodies
Of glorious light
Colours shimmering through the gloom
Twinkling, quivering at his glance
Says he, "I cross the skies.
I ride the storm
The clouds are my sails
The winds are my seas
The stars are my brethren
The moon is my love
And through the ages
I will chase her."
Lightning abides
In his right hand
And his voice pours forth thunder
The light of life - the gem of the stars
Adorns his brow
Lighting his trackless path
His endless journey through ageless night

I will admit being strongly influenced by Tolkein's tale of EƤrendil with the Silmaril on his brow - the rest of the inspiration was the way the sky looked after the storms yesterday
